"Moving To A Better Place In God!"

Higher Ground Worship Center is a member of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. Founded by (the late) Pastor Larry J. Crismon,Sr. (1951-2009) and his devoted companion, Sister Brenda Crismon, in the fall of 2000 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, our church has experienced tremendous spiritual and numerical growth in a very short period of time.  From our humble beginnings in a store front located at 800 Parkway Avenue in south Murfreesboro, to the move to our current facility, which is over four times the size of the Parkway location, our Founder's mantra truly is our destiny: "Moving to a Better Place in God!" (Genesis 12:1-3)  In doing so, we have the disposition of David as we thirst for more of His presence and seek to fulfill His will. (Psalm 42:1)

Our Pastor

Pastor Andrae Crismon, son of Co-Founders (the late) Pastor Larry & Sister Brenda Crismon, is a man who is truly seeking after the face of God.  Although  he is a young man, Pastor Crismon has been in the gospel ministry since 1992, when he preached his first official sermon "We Need to Get Back to the Basics!"  Pastor Crismon believes that it is important to be genuine in relating the timeless message of Christ, especially to this new generation. He shares from both the pulpit and in person that God looks past his faults, failures and frailties and utilizes him so that He may receive the glory!  Now, like Jeremiah, there is a fire in Pastor Crismon's bones that burdens him to share the uncompromising message of Jesus Christ to a dying world.

Pastor Andrae married his God-mate, the former Crystal Robinson on November 28, 2009. She is an anointed woman of God in her own right that God is using to reach souls for His kingdom.  In May of 2011, the couple welcomed a son into their home, Andrae Phillip Crismon, II.  In January 2014, God blessed them with a second son, Caleb Alexander Crismon.

Away from the church, Lady Crystal has utilized her education and training to help counsel troubled children and families in the Davidson and Rutherford County communities. When he is not busy carrying out God's instructions for Higher Ground Worship Center, Pastor Crismon is involved in helping the less fortunate through his work as an attorney and Director of the Legal Aid Society Pro Bono Program.
